Indian equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty declined on Tuesday, tracking rising geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz region, which weighed on investor sentiment.
Adding to the pressure, the Indian rupee slipped to an all-time low of 95.40 against the US dollar in early trade, further dampening market mood.
At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76704.36 down by -565.04 points or by -0.73 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23979.05 down by -140.25 points or by -0.58 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 77140.97 and intraday low of 76649.25 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24072.1 and intraday low of 23949.4
